Career events are a popular two-part program and available to registered attendees at the annual IMATA conference. Two workshops are available on Monday, Resume Review and Interview Insights. Attendees may choose to participate in one or both of the workshops. The Career Fair will be held on Wednesday.
The Resume Review workshop is for anyone interested in having experienced IMATA leadership review his or her resume in a casual one on one setting. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss his or her resume with experienced personnel in the marine mammal training industry. Participants will receive guidance regarding general resume content, resume format and advice on what a prospective employer may or may not value in a resume. This workshop is a must for those either looking to enter the marine mammal training field or for those who simply want to maintain a professional resume.
Due to the popularity of this workshop the reviews are set by appointment. Resume Reviews are run in 10-15 minute intervals to accommodate as many participants as possible Appointments may be scheduled before the conference begins by contacting Robyn Trainor, firstname.lastname@example.org. Review appointments are limited and fill up fast so make your appointment as soon as possible.
Resume Review is coordinated by Robyn Trainor.
Interview Insights is an interactive workshop where important interview do’s and don’ts will be discussed. The workshop is conducted in a comfortable and casual group atmosphere. The workshop includes several mock interviews, allowing all participants to play an active role in their discovery and feedback on how to land that dream job in the marine mammal training field. Anyone may attend this workshop and is included in the conference registration.
Interview insights is moderated by Shelley Wood.
The final Career Event at the Annual Conference is the Career Fair. We will have a room filled with various marine animal organizations that are looking for people to hire into training/research/education positions or possibly even internships. This is a great place to bring your newly revised resume and business cards to meet potential employers face to face.
