16 FEBRUARY 2015 - 20 FEBRUARY 2015

Marine Mammal Behavior and Conservation Los Cabos:

ABC Animal Training is excited to offer an in-depth, hands-on experience in the field of marine mammal behavior and science. This workshop will focus on environmental education, examine the role of eco tourism such as whale watching and dolphin interactive programs and explore the impact these activities have on the humans and animals involved.

The informal setting of the course is designed to stimulate inquiry and active learning.  Students will be exposed to an overview of the marine mammal science field and gain both a local and global perspective on current issues. Participants will interact with expert researchers from varying backgrounds and actively observe animals both in wild environments and living under human care. Topics to be discussed include field research techniques, collecting and analyzing data, and how to develop critical thinking skills. Ultimately, students will gain an appreciation for the significance and role of marine mammals within the marine ecosystem and learn about marine conservation issues and our roles as leaders in animal management, policy and care.

This workshop is specifically designed for educators and people interested in pursuing a career in marine mammals science.
