Merchandise Committee

Mission Statement:

To offer the membership high quality and affordable merchandise bearing the official IMATA logo.

Committee General Description:

The Merchandise Committee is responsible for overseeing all merchandise ordering and sales for the organization.

Committee Requirements:

Members of this committee must be from the Professional, Active, Associate, or Student levels of membership and in good standing.  
 


 

Committee Chair Description:

GENERAL INFORMATION 

  • The Merchandise Committee Chair is re-appointed annually by the current President with Board approval during the annual conference.
  • The Merchandise Committee Chair is expected to attend the annual meeting and attendance is preferred at the mid-year meeting.
  • The Merchandise Committee Chair will be expected to prepare a quarterly report as dictated by the President’s yearly calendar. Dates for these reports are usually Jan 31, Apr 30, Jul 31, & Oct 31. These reports will be submitted to the President and the Secretary using the form in the IMATA Policy Manual. With the Apr 30 report, a physical inventory and cost should be included.
  • IMATA compensates its Merchandise Committee Chair in the following ways: membership will be paid for each year served and conference registration fees are waived.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Be a professional or active member in good standing.    

 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • The Merchandise Committee is responsible for making recommendations, and if approved by the Executive Board, procuring and making available to the membership items bearing the official logotype of the Association. This includes regular stock merchandise and approved conference logo items for the annual conference held within the United States.
  • The Merchandise Committee is responsible for filing mail and online orders from members throughout the year, and bringing merchandise items to the annual conference in addition to coordinating the sale of these items during the conference.
  • Currently the Merchandise Committee’s responsibilities can be broken down into three sub-categories:
    • Yearly Sales (Mail and Online/Email)
    • Merchandise Sales at Annual Conference
    • New Merchandise
  • The Merchandise Committee Chair will be responsible for updating the job description when he or she leaves the position, or at a minimum of every two years. The job description should contain the following information:
    • Position Title
    • Revision Date
    • Basic Job Description
    • Responsibilities
    • Annual Timeline/Flow Chart
