The Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, IA is pleased to announce the 2012 Midwest Regional Workshop.  The workshop will be held in the Discovery Center of the Blank Park Zoo Monday, 2 April 2012 from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM.  Registration will begin at 8:00 AM.  Attendees will have the opportunity to observe training sessions with a variety of different species, discuss "hot topics", and meet and network with other zoo and aquarium professionals and trainers.  Cost for registration will be $10 and lunch will be included for participants. 

 

A block of rooms have been made available at a discounted price of $99/night at either then Fairfield Inn (515-309-4444) or Radisson (515-285-7777) for Sunday, 1 April 2012 and Monday, 2 April 2012.  Reservations must be made with the hotel by 1 March 2012 to guarantee room and receive discount.  Just ask for the Blank Park Zoo IMATA rate.  For guests that may be travelling via air, both hotels provide a shuttle from the airport and a shuttle can be arranged between the hotel and the zoo.  Both hotels are located on Fluer Drive and are minutes from the Des Moines Airport and the Blank Park Zoo.
