MARK YOUR CALENDARS – WE'RE HEADED TO BEAN TOWN!
Get ready for lobstah, chowdah, pawsative reenfawcement, and a wicked good time. This year we are heading to historic, downtown Boston for the 38th Annual IMATA Conference! We are now in our final days leading to the August 31st pre-registration deadline. Register now to take advantage of pre-registration savings, and don't forget to book your room at our conference site, The Seaport Hotel.
Our host, the New England Aquarium (NEA), is busy preparing for a fun and memorable meeting. They will host an afternoon at NEA to allow attendees to view their exhibits and displays, attend private fur seal training sessions, and view a private screening of a 3D film at their IMAX Theater!
This year we are also excited to bring back LIVE REMOTE TRAINING SESSIONS! We will travel to Ocean Park, Hong Kong, Alaska Sea Life Center, and Sea World San Diego via live internet video connections. Conference attendees will have the change to ask the trainers questions as they work with their animals. Don't miss this unique opportunity.
In early September, a special edition of IMATA TV will be hosted to answer any questions members may have about this year's meeting. We will send out an email announcement once the date and time for the webcast is set. In the meantime, feel free to contact me at FirstVP@imata.org if you have any questions.
Lastly, after reviewing member feedback from last year's meeting, we've found several attendees would like to see more time to seek help with resume review. In addition to the regular scheduled resume review during Career Night on Saturday, December 4th, we will have some members of the IMATA resume review team available during the first day of registration (Friday, December 3rd).
Whether you are a veteran in the field, a trainer with years of experience, or a new kid on the block (NKOTB are from Boston!), this year's conference has something for you. Please continue to stay tuned here and on Facebook for ongoing updates. We'll see ya in Bawstin!
