FAQ

Is there a dress code?

Most participants dress casually for this type of event. Indoor meeting rooms can sometimes be chilly and outdoor activities in San Diego may be affected by extreme weather (heat or rain); please consider this when factoring in what to bring (sweatshirt, rain jacket, etc.).

 Will there be “walk-up” registration?

Space is limited for this workshop; we recommend registering for this event in advance.

Can I “hold” my spot for the workshop and submit my registration payment later?

All registrations must be paid-in-full at the time of confirmation.

Can I register with a check?

We recommend that attendees use our secure e-commerce tool to complete registration via credit card. Check payments can be accepted by mail with advance notice. Please email robertsdave@mac.com for details.

I have registered for the workshop, but now I cannot attend. Can I get a refund?

All refund requests must be received in writing by 15 September 2022. Approved refunds will be issued within 30 business days and a $20 processing fee will be deducted. Please send cancellation requests via email to  robertsdave@mac.com.

Our company registered someone for the workshop, but we’d like to substitute another individual in their place. Can we do that?

Yes. Please send substitution requests via email to robertsdave@mac.com.

I only have an interest in attending one of the Ken Ramirez seminars on Thursday. Can I get a discount for only coming to one seminar?

Workshop registration costs are based on full-day participation. There are no credits/discounts for partial attendance.

May I bring my child to the workshop?

Attendees between the ages of 13 and 17 are permitted to register and attend the workshop sessions if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian throughout the entire event; that parent or guardian must also be a registered attendee and over the age of 18. Attendees under the age of 13 are not permitted.

Is there a discount for participants between the ages of 13 and 17?

The base cost for registration is the same for all participants, regardless of age.

Is there an “ice-breaker” event?

There are no plans in the works for an informal ice-breaker event. If this changes, this FAQ will be updated.

Are there discounted hotel rates available nearby?

SeaWorld is working with a local hotel to secure discounted room rates. Once these plans are solidified, this FAQ will be updated.

Can I submit an abstract to give a presentation of my own?

This event will not include individual presentations from workshop participants. Instead, emphasis will focus on the continuing education offered during structured lectures and group discussions facilitated by Ken Ramirez.

What should I bring?

We recommend that you bring a notebook/pen to take notes during the lectures and workshops. Small backpacks and bags are permitted, but valuables should be left somewhere safe. All attendees will pass through a security screening (metal detector and bag check) upon arrival; weapons are not permitted. You should also bring your digital confirmation of workshop registration and a valid photo ID.

Can I use a camera to record the workshop?

Video and audio recording are NOT permitted during the Ken Ramirez workshop/seminars. Cameras ARE permitted during most SeaWorld training sessions/demonstrations.

I must bring my own food. Is this okay?

Yes, you may bring your own snacks and lunch if you have dietary restrictions.

Is there a cost for parking at SeaWorld?

Complimentary general parking at SeaWorld San Diego is available for registered attendees.

Where do I check-in?

On 21 September, there will be a check-in table near the turnstiles and ticket plaza. On 22 September, the check-in area will be outside the park at the Adventure Camp Center. You can ask any SeaWorld employee for directions to these areas.
